The role of Business Operations Trainees at Advice Cloud are designed to play a crucial part in the growth plans of the company. The persons fulfilling these roles will assume responsibility (and in some areas accountability) for various tasks currently covered by the existing team.
- Efficient running of business “back office”
- Project Management
- Business development including management & updating of CRM system
- Client queries and helpdesk
- Supplier management
- Marketing & Social media engagement
- Bid response (subject to appropriate training)
- Service Delivery
- Computer literate (Outlook, Office 365 suite, Google docs, internet email)
- Eager to learn
- Open to challenges
- Hard working
- Attention to detail
- Social media savvy
- Customer Service Experience preferred
Educational background is less important than cultural fit. We employed a Sussex grad who had no business experience whatsoever – in fact her previous work experience was as a nanny & behind a bar.
However she became a pivotal part of the team until she left to join her family in Oz – and we miss her immensely still.

As such we are looking for graduates with excellent interpersonal skills, as communicating effectively with both internal and external customers is crucial to the role.
The ability to work hard, take on new challenges and adapt yourself to different areas of the business in order to develop your knowledge and understanding is key. The roles give great scope to the successful applicants to develop their skills in a range of important business functions, as well as being provided the opportunity to make a difference and help to improve communications and streamline processes between these functions.
Bonus points if you:
- Have customer service experience (pub, call centre, selling ice cream on the beach…)
- Like Thai food (we often go to the Giggling Squid for lunch just so you know)
- Are a bit of tech genius
- Like a good pun
