On 20th October, our CEO Chris Farthing (also a former government buyer) walked suppliers through what GCA has said about PSSS so far and what to have ready before the tender opens. Here’s a summary of what he covered, with the full recording at the end.
What the session covered
- Where PSSS stands now: the 6 proposed lots, the frameworks it replaces, and what GCA has confirmed and what is still open. For the full background, read The Public Sector Software Solutions Framework (RM6396) Explained.
- What the certifications require: Cyber Essentials plus ISO 9001, 27001, 20000-1 and 14001, or equivalents, are expected across every lot. Check where you stand with our PSSS ISO requirements self-check.
- How GCA plans to assess suppliers: price, quality, social value and Technical Ability Certificates. PPN 026 has also changed social value, which our article ‘Social Value Just Got a Major Update‘ explains.
- Who buys, and what happens after you’re listed: 240 buyers across the frameworks PSSS replaces, and why only 3 in 10 supplier listings have a published call-off.
- What to have ready: the evidence GCA has flagged, GCA’s Public Sector Contract and a prep list you can start on now.
