Webinar: What you need to know about sustainability and procurement

Join our free webinar with Positive Planet about how sustainability fits into public sector procurement.

PLEASE NOTE THIS WEBINAR HAS ALREADY TAKEN PLACE.

2021 saw some big changes to the way buyers and suppliers do procurement within the public sector. New regulations and rules announced by government last year brought in new processes, new ways of thinking and, most importantly, new actions for suppliers to take.

One of the biggest changes we saw was the increase in importance of sustainability within a suppliers provision. Considerations such as Net Zero Strategies have moved away from being a box-ticking exercise, to important steps companies have to take to work with the UK government.

To help suppliers understand sustainability in more depth, and how it links to public sector procurement, we’ve teamed up with Positive Planet to deliver a FREE webinar.

When is the webinar?

Join us on Thursday 10th February, 11am until 12noon, for ‘What you need to know about sustainability and procurement’.

What will we be covering?

During the session we’ll be joined by Stephen Henry from Positive Planet, and we’ll be breaking down sustainability and Net Zero. Ultimately, creating a knowledge sharing session where experts from both companies will be making sure suppliers to grips with what they need to be doing in 2022. This includes:

  • What sustainability means when it comes to public services.
  • The regulations in place that need to be taken notice of.
  • Why suppliers need to do more when it comes to sustainability (hint: the answer involves winning contracts).
  • How procurement is progressing because of these changes.
  • A Q&A section to ask our experts your questions.
  • and more!

About Stephen Henry: Stephen Henry is a co-founder of Positive Planet. I’ve spent nearly ten years working to help companies reduce their carbon footprint, working with some of the UK’s leading decarbonisation consultancies. I started Positive Planet because I wanted to make a positive difference to climate change and felt that there was insufficient affordable help and support available for SME’s. I am passionate about sustainability as a positive change that improves the way we live and work and believe that businesses play a significant leadership role to transform our planet.

Introducing Positive Planet

Climate change is one of the most complex challenges that humans have ever faced.  Many businesses and organisations want to take positive climate action but are unsure how or where to get started.  Positive Planet supports small to medium-sized businesses across all sectors to understand their carbon emissions and create informed carbon reduction strategies and business change programmes. For organisations looking to provide services to central government or departments such as DfE or the NHS, Positive Planet can help your organisation get ‘fit to bid’ by complying with the latest sustainable procurement legislation and enhancing your bid submission.
