Why you should relist on G-Cloud 11
If you're already on G-Cloud 10, you may be considering if you want to list again on G-Cloud 11. So what are the benefits of relisting on the framework?
With G-Cloud 11 just around the corner, we thought it would be the perfect time to remind suppliers already on GC10 to the benefits of relisting on the next iteration of the framework.
So why should you relist?
Money, money, money
For a start, G-Cloud is the biggest framework out there. In terms of spend, G-Cloud outweighs the competition by millions of pounds. But don’t take my word for it, the stats speak for themselves:
Total spend on G-Cloud to date: a whopping £4bn! Compared to:
- Digital Outcomes and Solutions: £780m
- Network Services 1: £464.5m
- Technology Products 2: £753m
- Estimated Data and Application Solutions spend: £2.8bn
While these frameworks cannot be directly compared (being for different products, running for different lengths, etc), it is still clear that G-Cloud is a massive marketplace not to be missed out on – and this shouldn’t be changing for G-Cloud 11!
You’re an SME
G-Cloud is SME friendly (unlike some of the other frameworks), with almost half of the total spend going to SMEs. While this could be better, the comparisons between past procurement procedures and procurement today speak for themselves. In 2010, 80% of the UK Public Sector ICT spend was going to just 20 suppliers. In contrast, 47% of the total spend on G-Cloud has been with SMEs, with this number increasing steadily since its inception.
Although our Adviser Lindsay Smith suggested that the growth in spend on SMEs has slowed down a bit over the past two years, the UK Government has committed to spending £1 in every £3 on SMEs by 2022, so the initiative is there to grow the SME footprint.
It’s a talking point
We always recommend to our G-Cloud clients to mention to prospective buyers that they are on G-Cloud. This is because many buyers are aware that G-Cloud makes procurement simple and easier. Also, there is always the option to direct award, speeding up the procurement process!
It’s better to be on it than not
Imagine it – you are approached by a buyer who desperately wants your services – you are the perfect fit for the organisation, it’s a lucrative contract, the spend has been approved. Then you get to talking and the buyer says: ‘are you on G-Cloud?’. You don’t want to risk answering ‘no’ to that question – it will always be better to be on G-Cloud than to not be on it.
If you didn’t sell on G-Cloud 10, don’t panic! Applying for G-Cloud 11 gives you the chance to review your listing and take a look at what worked and what didn’t. With so many reasons to relist, it’s definitely something to consider!
