G-Cloud 13 plans new Lot 4
Crown Commercial Service have asked for feedback on a potential new Lot 4 for G-Cloud 13.
Amongst the waves of changes Crown Commercial Service are making to the Digital Marketplace (Digital Outcomes 6, a new Digital Specialists & Programmes framework, and more!), one you may have missed is about a new Lot 4 on G-Cloud 13.
CCS have recently put the feelers out for a new Lot on the staple route to market that is G-Cloud. Whilst not yet confirmed, this could be happening when the next iteration arrives for applications in the first part of 2022, and goes Live in the Summer. For more info on G-Cloud 13, here’s our dedicated blog.
Take all of this as unconfirmed at the moment – as CCS are currently getting feedback from suppliers and buyers on how these changes should look. However, we have some idea on what it will look like…
What is Lot 4 on G-Cloud?
The proposed Lot 4 on G-Cloud will be for the provision of end-to-end cloud services. This is for larger scale transition projects, that feature planning, setup, migration, security services, ongoing support and more. Suppliers in this Lot will have to provide all of these provisions, for larger projects.
This category of G-Cloud is touted to be further competition only too, and unlike Lots 1-3, will not feature direct award capability.
Will anything else change?
This is a pretty big change if it comes into play, and is probably due to the recently scrapped Cloud Services framework that CCS touted early in 2021. So, we’re looking at seeing services incorporated into G-Cloud – if feedback is good, of course.
We’re likely to see a change to the application process. With new social value and net zero targets within government, suppliers are almost certainly going to be asked about these on application. So expect there to be quite a bit more work when it comes to submissions this time around!
So getting a new Lot 4 on G-Cloud 13 may not be the only change we see. As always, we’ll keep you in the loop.
