We’re proud to share that we have been ranked 38th in the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development™ List 2025!

New for this year, the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List celebrates companies making employee development a key part of company culture. It’s about more than offering training courses or ticking boxes – these workplaces offer employees the chance to better themselves, to learn new skills, and to progress within the organisation. They understand that development is not one-size fits all, and they actively support every single employee to undertake their own tailored journey of growth.

“Training and development aren’t just about helping employees perform their day-to-day tasks – it’s about demonstrating that people are valued and that there’s a clear path for growth. When employees can’t see opportunities ahead, they’re less likely to be fully engaged, which can harm both productivity and retention.”

Benedict Gautrey , Managing Director of Great Place To Work® UK.

What this means for us

We’ve always believed that learning and growth should be built into the way we work — not bolted on as an afterthought. Whether it’s the chance to take on new responsibilities, get stuck into a team project, or build professional skills, we want everyone here to feel supported in shaping their own development.

Over the past few years — and especially the last 12 months — we’ve introduced new ways to make that happen. That includes:

  • running team-wide bid writing training
  • supporting three team members to gain APMP certification
  • hiring a full-time Bid Manager to build capacity in this area
  • and most recently, introducing a permanent 4-day working week after a successful trial

We’re also working towards becoming an Employee-Owned Trust by 2030, with leadership and development at every level playing a big part in that.

How the list is decided

To compile the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development List, Great Place to Work® reviewed our culture, benefits, approach to leadership and development, alongside anonymous responses from our employees. They then used these data insights to benchmark our company’s employee value proposition against the culture our employees actual experience. Only the businesses who achieve the highest scores after evaluation receive Best Workplaces™ status.

From our anonymous employee feedback, we can see that overall, our team highly commends our dedication to individual growth and autonomy while facilitating knowledge sharing across the organisation. We’re proud to report:

  • 100% of our team agreed they are offered training or development to further themselves professionally (+8 points above the Best Workplaces™ benchmark)
  • 100% feel management involves people in decisions that affect their jobs or work environment (+7)
  • 100% feel we have special and unique benefits (+11)

That last one includes things like our work-from-home allowance, a 4-day week, Employee Assistance Programme, Deliveroo credit, and an annual winter fuel allowance. These benefits aren’t just top-down either — we have an employee-led Health and Wellbeing group that meets regularly and helps shape what we offer as a workplace

The feedback shows we’re getting the balance right – offering flexibility, opportunities to grow, and a culture where people are trusted to lead and learn in ways that work for them.

“Development doesn’t just happen in training sessions, it’s in everyday conversations, challenges, and the trust we place in each other as a team. I’m proud of the culture we’ve built here, and this certification reflects the intention we put behind it.”

Chris Farthing , CEO of Advice Cloud

What’s next?

We’re so proud of this achievement and look forward to using the valuable insights Great Place To Work has provided us with to build on our culture and employee satisfaction. It’s a brilliant milestone but we’re just getting started.

We’re working towards becoming an Employee-Owned Trust by 2030 and achieving B-Corp certification in 2025, continuing to build a business that puts people and purpose first.
