Why suppliers should consider TS3
The Technology Services 3 framework, or TS3 for short, is due to open this summer. Here's why suppliers should get involved.
With Technology Services 3 due out this summer (expected in June 2020), we wanted to roll through some of the big benefits of the framework. From our experience, and we’re sure Crown Commercial Service’s too, the framework has been a big success. Technology Services 2 has been used by many buyers within the public sector to procure their digital services and solutions, with a lot of suppliers seeing the benefits of this.
So, without further ado, here are some key reasons to consider Technology Services as a route to the public sector market…
Technology Services 2 has been a big success
Although still ongoing, TS2 has shown its worth. CCS recently stated (in their supplier engagement webinar for TS3) that at least 145 buyers have used the framework since it launched in 2017. They’ve spent over a massive £250m between them too. That’s some good business!
That’s not to say TS2 is perfect, but it gives a big launching point for the third iteration to jump from – and shows that buyers know how to use it.
SMEs are getting involved
Out of the 146 suppliers that got on to TS2, 90 of those were SMEs. That’s 62% of them. It’s also evident that they’re not just sitting on the framework, they’re getting the contracts too. Although the majority of contracts are still going to the big organisations, if SMEs use the framework correctly and give it the time and resources it needs – they can make a success of it. So, we’re hopeful that TS3 provides another route to market for SMEs.
CCS listen to suppliers and buyers
One of the things that makes TS3 exciting, is that the supplier engagement for the framework has led to some interesting and promising changes. An adjustment to the Lots has been announced, for example. In short, Lots 1 and 2 have combined and there’s the introduction of a new Lot (Service Integration and Management). This is all to ensure more clarity and ease of procurement for buyers and suppliers. There are more details of the changes in our previous blogs about the framework.
Technology Services 3 is a framework that is due to run for another four years. So, when it opens this summer, you’ll want to make sure you’re applying. Suppliers don’t want to miss out on an edge their competitors might have for four years.
We’re running our Technology Services 3 webinar on the 26th May 2020, so get involved to find out more about how it all works and how suppliers can win business with the framework!
