We are sponsoring LocalGovCamp 18
Very pleased to announce we will be sponsoring this year’s LocalGovCamp. The largest and longest running unconference for UK local government!
This year LocalGovCamp will be held in September in Birmingham and we get to participate in two full days of learning!
We couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to sponsor such a brilliant event. Local government has always been a passion of ours and we worked on procurement with numerous local authorities. As we all know procurement doesn’t always run smoothly. We are going to LocalGovCamp with an agenda – start discussing how we can make tech procurement speedy, compliant, cost effective and most importantly responsive to citizen’s needs. We are looking forward to hearing what the pain points are and how we can all work together to make it happen.
It promises to be an event to cover all tastes. For those prone to more traditional conferencing the first day is organised workshop and presentation style. The second day, and our personal favourite, is an unconference.
LocalGovCamp Day 1 – Friday 21st September
Participants will have a chance to attends talks and workshops broadly focused around the Local Government Digital Service Standard. Topics are still coming in but so far, the line-up looks very interesting:
- Agile Procurement and its role in Local Gov Digital Transformation (our very own session!)
- Open Standards & Interoperability
- AI & Robotic Process Automation in local gov
- Data strategies for successful digital transformation
- User research & customer experience
- The Citizen expects Omni-Channel – can local gov deliver it?
- Point solutions v low code
- Strategies that promote innovation
- The Culture Barrier – how can it be overcome
LocalGovCamp Day 2 – Saturday 20th September
If you are looking for an overview of the agenda for day two you won’t find one. As is tradition with unconferences, the agenda is set on the day by those who attend. So, come and pitch your idea! Or attend one of the ideas presented on the day. In our experience, there is always a lot of very useful discussions that get the spot light. Remember the attendees are top movers and shakers in Local Gov Digital. This is your chance to discuss or work through a topic or question that you have always wondered about.
The ticket lottery for LocalGovCamp is now open so if you haven’t already sign up for your chance to attend! We will yet again take the opportunity to give something back during the event. Rather than dish out throwaway freebies, we will be running a fundraising campaign at LocalGovCamp. It’s becoming a bit of a tradition for us actually. Back in January we managed to raise £515 for Shelter at UKGovCamp. At LocalGovCamp we will yet again be pledging to donate £5 for every visitor that comes to our stand. Our goal is to raise £1000! So, if you are there don’t forget to visit.
