A new public sector transport framework opens
A new framework for transport technology has now opened! Suppliers can now apply for Transport Technology & Associated Services.
We’ve spoken about how we’ve had our eye on this one for a while now. Transport Technology & Associated Services, a public sector transport framework run by Crown Commercial Service, is now open!
We won’t go into too much detail (we’ve got a lot of blogs we’ll link to for that), but here’s what you need to know.
What is the timeline?
When the Contract Notice was published on Tuesday 27th April 2021, we were given its timeline. Applications have to be submitted by 26th May 2021 to be considered.
Remember though, CCS can change this if required, so keep monitoring it during your application.
Why should suppliers apply for this public sector transport framework?
Well, first of all it has an estimated value of £2.5bn during its lifecycle. That’s a huge opportunity for suppliers of transport tech to the public sector.
Secondly, it makes procurement easier. Frameworks over the years have become a preferred way of doing business for the public sector. This is because it’s quick and compliant. Suppliers should be aiming to get access to these routes to market to enable them to build those relationships with buyers.
Lastly, it aims to benefit users of public services in the UK. So, it doesn’t just provide benefits to buyers and suppliers but citizens too! We covered three main ways it does so, but one thing we’re very excited about is its inclusion of sustainable solutions.
What should suppliers do now?
Get involved. If you can supply the technology that’s in scope and want the public sector to procure your services or technology, then you shouldn’t let it pass you by. If you’re unsure your technology fits, here’s a breakdown of Lots. Yes, supplier numbers for the framework are capped, but that’s all the more reason to get your application right to beat the competition.
Read through the ITT documents made available on 27th April. Pull together your resources and members of your team required to make a winning application to get accepted. If you’re concerned you don’t have the time or staff – get in touch. That’s where we can help.
