What is the Public Sector Mobile Service framework?
The Public Sector Mobile Service framework has been announced by CCS. Here's what we know so far...
There’s been rumblings of the new Public Sector Mobile Service framework for some time now, but after attended a Crown Commercial Service (CCS) event and checking through the new PIN for the framework – we have some details!
So without further ado, here’s the key info…
What’s the Public Sector Mobile Service framework for?
In short, it’s for mobile voice and data services. So, if a supplier can provide any of this, this one might be for them!
It’s actually intended to replace Lot 6 in Network Services 2 (NS2), as it features much of the same. NS2 closes in 2022, so there will be some crossover too. This means that if you’re listed on that Lot for NS2, you’ll want to be on this one to not miss out- as we’re yet to hear about if there will be a Network Services 3.
Even after the new PIN was released in March 2021, the Lot structure for the framework hasn’t been released. However it looks like we’ll see some of these products and services in scope:
- Communications and Telecommunications networks
- Mobile phone services and hardware
- Operating systems
- Wireless telecoms systems
- and more!
When do we expect to see it open?
CCS have not outlined a confirmed date for the released of the Contract Notice (which is when applications will open). However, the pencilled in date is 1st April 2021. So, keep your eyes peeled!
