Enlightened tech SMEs sell better to the UK Public Sector
Our host Jos Creese summarises the key takeaways for tech SMEs from this year's Advice Cloud Client and Partner Day.
On 16th January 2020 we held our fifth annual Client & Partner Day. Bringing together tech SMEs, partners from the technology industry and public sectors, and key leaders in procurement and government. Over 50 attendees made it on the day and took part in valuable discussions about how the public sector can work better with suppliers, how SMEs can sell their technology more effectively and what to expect from a new decade of IT procurement.
If you weren’t able to make it along to the day, or you’re not yet a client of Advice Cloud (these events are for our clients only!), then you’re in luck. Our Strategic Adviser and wonderful Client & Partner Day host, Jos Creese, has written an in-depth take on the discussions that took place. This article gives insights into the subjects mentioned and topics that public sector suppliers and tech SMEs themselves brought to our expert panel!
The panel included:
- Niall Quinn, Technology Director at Crown Commercial Service
- Nicola Graham, Head of ICT at Aberdeenshire Council
- Rob McMillan, Head of Commercial Delivery at NHS Digital
- Rob Anderson, Principal Analyst at GlobalData

Our Client & Partner Days take place every January, and provide a chance for our clients to network with other technology suppliers and – most importantly – leaders in the procurement world. This is a part of the procurement process that is essential to making a success of the public sector, so Advice Cloud create these events so that our clients get a head start.
