UKGovCamp: where all things digital and government meet!
We are yet again proud to sponsor UKGovCamp, the UK’s largest unconference on all things digital and government.
This year the un-conference will be held at the Ministry of Justice on Saturday the 20th January. Only a few days to go!
As govtech procurement specialists, we couldn’t miss out on attending (and surely sponsoring!) UKGovCamp. With over 80 years of combined experience, we know how to make sure govtech procurement is speedy, compliant, cost effective and most importantly responsive to citizen’s needs. But technology procurement isn’t always easy in government. It’s a complex beast and UKGovCamp is the best place to discuss these issues and explore how we can support our public sector clients even better.
Rather than dishing out throwaway freebies we also decided to give something back this year. This UKGovCamp we are running a fundraising campaign to support Shelter in beating homelessness and helping people facing housing issues. For every visitor to our stand we pledge to donate £5,our goal is to raise £1000!
As experienced buyers, we have used technology frameworks to buy services on behalf of public sector authorities since August 2012. We have been working with all UK Government bodies, but our particular expertise is in Central & Local Government, Health, Police & Blue Light services. If you are one of the lucky attendees, come have a chat with us. You will not only have the opportunity to get to know us better, but also help us in raising money for a great cause!
What’s UKGovCamp?
GovCamps are very constructive free-to-attend annual events for all those people interested in how the public sector does digital ‘stuff’ and much more. The events are focused on attendee participation where everyone can freely express his/her/their opinion.
Jeremy Gould started UKGovCamp in 2008. The first UKGovCamp event took place at Google and for being the first one, it was already a success! Since then the numbers have grown, but the spirit has remained the same. And that’s also what we like most about it!
Every year attendees come armed with questions and ideas to discuss with the UKGovCamp community. On the day, after a quick introduction from the organisers, anyone can pitch a session. Check out UKGovCamp post from last year on what to expect and how to pitch. It should help you get an idea of what’s expected and what is going to happen.
UKGovCamp presents a unique opportunity to beneficially discuss the public sector digital scene. Last year was very inspiring for us and we strongly recommend attending the event.
We look forward to seeing you there and remember to tweet away on the day by using the hashtag #ukgc18!
